Our Commitment to Relationships

The church is often described in scripture as a body or family.

But now there are many members, but one body (1 Corinthians 12:20)

For just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function (Romans 12:4)

...as Christ also is the head of the church, He Himself being the Savior of the Body (Ephesians 5:23)

So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God’s household (Ephesians 2:19)

One thing common to both of these illustrations is the importance of relationships. The church is not a building; it is people. It is not an organization; it is an organism. Bountiful Blessings Fellowship is committed to the importance of relationships. Three specific relationships that we are seeking to strengthen are relationships in our immediate families, our fellowship group, and our corporate families.

We seek to promote and protect the family, not drive it apart with its programming or non-stop events. We desire to help dads be better dads and moms to be better moms, to encourage real family time, and to draw husbands and wives to each other. We actively encourage people to be committed to their families.

The second family that is essential to BBF is your fellowship group family. This small group of people provides an environment for fellowship, encouragement, and spiritual growth. For our church to be strong spiritually, these small groups must be strong with believers seeking to meet one another’s needs and actively building one another up.

Finally, we are a church family. As we come each Sunday to celebrate and worship together, our Sunday morning commitment consists of two parts: one of giving and one of receiving. Receiving is, of course, the worship service itself. The giving part is what each member of Bountiful Blessings should volunteer to do. This is accomplished bt serving and assisting in various ways (Praise group, choirs, prayer team, ushers, watchmen, etc.) to help provide a meaningful worship experience. This giving allows the spiritual needs of the whole church (adults, teenagers, and children) to be adequately addressed each week.

Developing and stregnthening these relationships can only be done as wee seek to develop our most essential relationship. That is our relationship with Jesus Christ
